Is it possible to organize an excursion to a different destination than the ones listed on the site?
Of course! The site contains only a summary of some of the most popular excursions along with a series of possible proposals.
However if you have a different trip in mind we can talk about it and plan it together.
Do I need to bring my own gear for excursions that require the use of a harness or wetsuit?
No, there is no need for that. The necessary gear for technical excursions (via ferrata, abseiling, canyoning, acquatrek) will be made available to you for the whole extent of the excursion without adding any extra charge.
I am quite a skilled hiker but have never tried technical routes, how do I know if I’m up to it?
Well, obviously if you never try you will never know. The ideal way is to start with extremely simple routes and with small or very small groups. Keep in mind that, if you reckon it’s necessary, it is also possible to plan private excursions.
Can the recommended excursions be done all year around or is there an ideal season?
When you are going on an excursion – together with all outdoor activities – you are usually at the mercy of the weather. This means that not every excursion is suitable for all seasons.
For instance, streams in Sardinia suffer from summer drought, so if you want to practice water canyoning, it is unlikely that you will find a proper flow after May. Obviously there are some exceptions (such as Rio Pitrisconi), but generally it is always advisable to plan your trip properly in order to enjoy the best places in the most suitable seasons.
Another aspect to take into account is that in the summer some areas are really too hot for hiking, thus during the warmer seasons it is essential to plan your destination along with departure and return schedules.
I would like to go on an excursion but I am not really keen on sharing a whole trip with other people, can you arrange it anyway?
No problem! It is possible to plan a private tour for one or more days where only you or your family or friends will take part in the excursion.
Obviously this option comes with a different price, so if you would like to opt for an experience of this type, please feel free to contact me for more details.
Almost every excursion is marked with the following sentence: “for this excursion the minimum number of participants is six” What does it mean?
It means that the proposed participation fee is based on that number of people, but of course that is not the only viable option, rather the ideal solution. If you are by yourself, or you are a couple, the best thing to do is to contact me to figure out together which destination would fit you best. You might want to take into account that most likely other people are asking for information regarding the same trip therefore the participants may join the same excursion.
Some excursions are marked with the following label: “minimum participation fee”. How do I know how much I will spend?
When the participation fee is indicated as “minimum” it means that it depends on the number of participants. For example, a minimum participation fee set at 30 euros could refer to your participation in an excursion in a group with a total number of 8 people. Clearly if the group was made up of 4 people the fee would be slightly higher.
In case you have any further questions please do not hesitate to write to me, and I will make sure that you receive the exact price.
I would like to know whether I am covered by insurance when taking part in one of your excursions?
Any person who takes part in my excursions is covered by my professional insurance (public liability) provided by Unipol-Sai.
This means that you are covered against any damage that you may suffer caused by me but not against unforeseeable or unavoidable accidental events (a strain, a sprain, a fall …), or those claims that are normally covered by an injury insurance.
Some excursions are marked as “organized in collaboration with Adventure Guide”. What does it mean?
This is a clarification that you find on some technical excursions that do not fall within the typical activities of a Hiking Guide or a Canyon Guide. Those activities are carried out by Adventure Guide (amateur sports association – a.s.d. in Italian) and involve exclusively its members.
Of course, if you wish, you can become a member of the a.s.d. at any time by paying a small annual membership fee.
Adventure Guide a.s.d. is a member of UISP.
